gTunnel is my attempt at a configurable and well-integrated SSH tunnel manager for GNOME. Almost all SSH tunnel managers I've come across have either been abandoned half-finished, stored passwords insecurely, or are just fiddly to use. I'm aiming to create a simple powerful tool that stays out of the way but lets you configure useful encrypted tunnels over SSH with the minimum of effort.

It totalled around 7000 downloads spread between various script sites and my own in the time I kept track of it. The name “NDLinks” refers to the name of my site at the time, Net-Dezigns.
Like most Linux users, I've accumulated several short but useful scripts over time. Here are the ones that might be of interest to others.

autolatex.sh

This is a simple script originally intended for monitoring several LaTeX source files and rebuilding and re-displaying the output whenever a file changes. It probably isn't the best script for the job, but it is also an example of how you can use inotifywait in Bash scripting to monitor files.

This is a page about an unmaintained project, and as such may contain inaccuracies and incorrect relative data references.

Simple FireWall Generator was written in order to facilitate the rapid creation of secure iptables-based firewalls via a few simple command-line options, and 2 simple configuration files if open ports are desired. The result of running the tool is a shell script that sets up the iptables rules required to have the desired effect.

SourceView is a simple standalone script which uses a combination of PHP and JavaScript to provide a filesystem browser, and uses highlight to provide syntax highlighting.

Tpl is a tiny PHP template engine, inspired by the hierarchical template capabilities of the Django Python framework.

Why another template engine? Because I feel that most template engines miss the point that PHP already is a template language, and attempt to replace PHP with a new syntax just for templates. This results in a massive overhead for parsing, and in most cases tends to end up a little restrictive too. In short, they attempt too much.

It works by using Erik Svensson's transmissionrpc Python module to interact with an instance of transmission-daemon, checking the status of current downloads and adding any torrents that are waiting in the watch folder.
